Forensic Process: definitions, casework, R&D, education, quality assurance
The lecture will focus on general criminalistics, providing the necessary definitions and then presenting the different steps of the forensic process (crime scene, analysis, interpretation and reporting) and the underlying inference model. Then it will develop on the core activities of a forensic institute such as the NFI (forensic casework, R&D and education/dissemination) using practical examples. Finally it will explain the importance and necessity of quality assurance in forensic practice.
