Computer Vision and Digital Investigations: from Surveillance Cameras to UAVs
The widespread adoption of emerging digital technologies has radically transformed the landscape of forensic investigations. This presentation focuses on the use of Computer Vision in the field of digital investigations, starting from traditional surveillance systems to the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Tools, methodologies, and operational scenarios will be examined, in which visual data acquired from various sources are collected, integrated, and analyzed to classify events, detect individuals, and support law enforcement and forensic analysts. The presentation will highlight both the potential and the challenges associated with the use of these advanced technologies, with particular attention to evidentiary validity, data protection, and the ethical use of digital information.
