Fingerprint Presentation Attacks: let’s make the point
This presentation provides an overview of the current advancements in fingerprint presentation attack detection (PAD), focusing specifically on the recent experiences of the Biometric Unit at the PRA Lab. Various approaches to creating realistic presentation attack instruments are discussed, along with an assessment of their potential threat level. The talk also introduces the eighth edition of the International Fingerprint Liveness Detection Competition (LivDet 2023), highlighting the challenges involved and presenting preliminary results that will be officially presented at the International Joint Conference on Biometrics (IJCB 2023). Furthermore, the talk considers the future prospects of the competition and addresses the unresolved issues surrounding fingerprint PAD for further discussion. Laboratory exercises will be included as part of the lecture.
