Biography

Dr. habil. Christian Riess received the Ph.D. degree in computer science from the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), Erlangen, Germany, in 2012. From 2013 to 2015, he was a Postdoc at the Radiological Sciences Laboratory, Stanford University, Stanford, CA, USA. Since 2015, he is the head of the Phase-Contrast X-ray Group at the Pattern Recognition Laboratory at FAU. Since 2016, he is senior researcher and head of the Multimedia Security Group at the IT Infrastructures Lab at FAU, and he received his habilitation from FAU in 2020.
Christian Riess served on the IEEE Information Forensics and Security Technical Committee 2017-2019, and received the IEEE Signal Processing Award in 2017. His research interests include all aspects of image processing and machine learning, particularly with applications in image and video forensics, X-ray phase contrast, and computer vision.
